Rensselaer Architecture Career Discovery Program

Summer break is here! It is a great time for your to explore what piques your interest! If you are interested in art, science, and technology, Rensselaer is excited to invite you to register for one of the Architecture Career Discovery Program sessions.

This two-week class, taught entirely online, is designed to expose students to the experience of enrolling in a high-quality undergraduate architecture program. High school students entering 10th, 11th, and 12th grade in the fall, who are interested in future careers in architecture or design-related fields and have a curiosity about the world, are encouraged to apply.

Session 1: Monday, July 12 – Friday, July 23 (9 a.m. –  4 p.m. EDT)
Session 2: Monday, July 26 – Friday, August 6 (11 a.m. –  6 p.m. EDT)

Course outline:The core of this course is studio work. In studio, students are immersed in a rigorous creative process that starts with an idea, the development of abstract models, and ultimately leads to the design of an exciting and innovative architectural building proposal. Critique and evaluation of studio work is continuous, occurring in one-on-one discussions with the instructor and in larger group reviews with invited architectural critics. Studio work is complemented by a series of lectures and presentations, which explore the broader context of architectural practice, contemporary projects and practitioners, as well as more technical concerns such as drawing and model making.

College Courses Sneak Preview

The University of Rochester is offering a new opportunity for your students to explore a subject of interest before college. The university is excited to offer a flexible online program designed for high school students, ages 13 and up, enable high school students to delve into particular subject areas.
The format is flexible—featuring dynamic online videos led by professors and live sessions with mentors, so students can study anytime, anywhere, at their own pace. 

Personal mentoring for guidance—flexible learning format

Mentorship: Students will participate in live, online group sessions with a Rochester mentor who assists with brainstorming on their final project and answering questions about assignments.


Flexible learning: Course lessons are delivered by renowned professors through dynamic videos allowing them to study anytime that fits their schedule.

Certificate of Completion from the University of Rochester: Students earn this recognition when they finish the course successfully.

Slingshot Fellowship is the world’s premier internship program for high school hustlers, hackers, and makers. Run by top CS school graduates, Slingshot was founded to offer the world’s smartest high school talent mentored internships at startups founded by CMU, Stanford, and MIT graduates. Online Pre-College AI Program (Inspirit AI)

Are you looking for AI experience? Here is your opportunity to work with mentors from Stanford, MIT, and Harvard this summer.

Inspirit AI is an artificial intelligence education program run by graduate students from Stanford, MIT, and Harvard.

AI Scholars Live Online is a 10-session (25 hours) pre-college enrichment program that exposes high school students (Grades 9-12) to the intersection of artificial intelligence and humanities and guides them to build a socially impactful project in areas including law, journalism, education, and more. Taught by a team of graduate students from Stanford University, students receive a personalized, interdisciplinary learning experience with a student-teacher ratio of 4:1. The programs offer multiple dates and times for the Summer Break programs.

Students of all backgrounds may apply here by April 15th for Summer and learn more in the brochure or on the official website.
